Tidewater Transportation and Terminals Integrated Contingency Plan
Ecology invites interested public, local and tribal governments, and all others to review and comment on contingency plan updates for the 12-month and 18-month phase-in requirements to Chapter 173-182 WAC. This rule requires large oil handling facilities, pipelines, and vessels to have a state-approved oil spill contingency plan that ensures their ability to respond to major oil spills. The updates to this rule will be implemented over four phase-in periods between July 18, 2020, and January 18, 2022. More information on what is required during these phase-in periods can be found in WAC 173-182-130.
This plan update follows Ecology’s initial review of the 12-month implementation requirements, submitted in January of 2021. All requirements not met during the initial plan review are shown in the Contingency Plan Rule Implementation Crosswalk linked above. This plan is now undergoing a final review by Ecology and our review, or comments from the public, may lead to further plan updates.
